Many don’t realize that the primary battlefield weapons of the samurai were bows, then guns, and not swords. They had entire martial traditions based around gunnery, everything from handguns to longer matchlocks, that included range etiquette, weapons handling, positional shooting, and more – in case any doubts that shooting is a “martial art,” there is indisputable proof that it always has been.
